Teacher Training Programs...

Hello friends...

I'm researching various teacher training programs and looking for some feedback.

I have applied to the Eugene Waldorf teacher training program and am wondering if any of you have experience with the training program there or know someone who has gone through it?

I looked in to the Rudolf Steiner college in Sacramento but in my research of the surrounding area, I don't feel the "culture" would make my lifestyle and I'd be unhappy living in the Sac area. However, I haven't completly ruled RSC out.

any input on this would be fantastic!! hugs!

Hi! I went to RSC. The experience there was awesome. Yeah the area around RSC is shitty but there is a whole bunch of goodness at the college. I love the fact that the school is dedicated for teachers and that you are emersed with daily teachings and surrounded by like minded people. Luckily downtown isn't to far away, neither is S.F. and Tahoe. I loved my training experience there. It was definitely life changing.
I know a bunch of people who went to Eugene and they all had great experiences. Some have said that they wished that it was a full time program, but the trade off is that you live in a cool city. I think it is one year longer in Eugene, hmm I could be wrong. I am not sure.
Either way you go you will be happy. Waldorf education is awesome. I love teaching and I love the education of teaching with hand, heart , and head.
    Its good. Blessings,
    Fern

I attended RSC, and it was amazing. I have a pretty amazingly wonderful group here is Sacramento, check out my friends and see, it looks like you would mesh well.
The program is only two years, then you can go where ever you would like. The teachers here are amazing, it's worth being in Sacramento for the experience, and the Sacramento Waldorf school is really close and totally stunning, and a really wonderful place to get the opportunity to do your practicums at.

My friend Todd went to Eugene and loved it. He is now working in his hometown of Pittsberg last I heard. I personally found the Kula Makua training in Hawaii to work for me. The classes are small and the teachers are wonderful. Your practical work is done in the Honolulu Waldorf School's classrooms with skilled teachers. Good Luck where ever you go.
